Historically, armour was mostly made from fabric or leather but later, protections made of metal were also used, especially in military applications like heavy cavalry or combat drones. There are many ways to upgrade armour, however, the majority require you to visit one of the four Great Fairy Fountains scattered throughout Hyrule. Each fountain has its own level of upgrades and more will provide higher levels of protection, but requiring a higher cost in rupees and other materials to unlock. The first thing to note about Armor Upgrades is they are permanent upgrades and once they've been applied they cannot be replaced unless you own another piece of equipment that comes with the same upgrade. You should only apply the most advanced upgrades to your equipment and make sure that you have all the components needed to complete them. You can find the upgrade components you need in many places around Hyrule. These include merchants, shrines and even enemies. They are typically marked by an orange triangle or a gold circle and are found in huge numbers as you progress. Although they can appear randomly, there is the possibility that obtaining certain upgrade components will result in quests that reward players with more. It is also important to note that although the level of protection offered by each upgrade varies but it's the same for all upgrades and will always be superior to nothing. A complete set of upgraded armor will give you a strong defense boost that will protect against all kinds of attacks and will also protect against magic. This makes it an effective weapon for any class. Weapons If you want to make your guns unique, you can upgrade them with a variety of special upgrades. They can increase the damage, change the weapon's stats to cater to your specific build or even unlock new attachments like unique enchantments, ammo types, and aesthetic options. You'll need both the upgrade component as well as the weapon itself to upgrade it. The weapon has to be at or near a certain level to upgrade it. Most weapons can only take one upgrade. Weapon upgrade components are available all over the world, from the enemy or from merchants. Upgrade components are made up of components that you can incorporate into armors, weapons, trinkets and gathering tools to earn an attribute bonus. It's essential to prioritize upgrading your most-used items first, and then items that you won't need to replace in the near future. If you're planning on playing a melee build, for instance, upgrade your weapon first, then your shoulders and chest followed by your feet and hands. It is used to illuminate the area around it. Other items of utility include the Helicopter Hat and Rocket Boots, which allow players to fly in the air while moving and the Jetpack, which allows players to accelerate in any direction while on the ground. Many utility items can be instantly produced in the Engineering section, while others are unlockable through Research projects or experimental projects in the Proving Ground. Players can gain more powerful utility items in addition to those they have in their usual inventory by purchasing them from the Atomic Shop or from seasonal Scoreboard rewards. A second slot is available after completing certain engineering, research, or experimental projects on the Proving Ground.
